BeerBiker (1209), Odense, Denmark Sep 27, 2008 [Bottle from Bamberg.] Mmmmmmmmmm, nice dunkel with good notes all the swallowing way. Light brown look and sweetmalty app. Caramel, grain, dunkelsweet and nice watery. OK beer! renffisch (461), london, Greater London, England Sep 24, 2008 bottle at ealing bf 08. deep heavyly germinated alph-alpha sprout nose, typical bamberg. chestnut/mahogany colour, thin white head. Grainy, overly sprouting awfullness. sweet cloying sticky mouthfeel. Magic_dave6 (4012), London, Greater London, England Aug 13, 2008 Bottle at Ealing beer fest. I was told this was a marzen, but its colour would infact say(as the site does) that this is a dunkel. Very malty, bready, small chocolate note, caramel, earthy german hop. Taste is similar, quite rich and not the easiest to drink, but quite good. rickgordon (3074), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 11, 2008 Bottle.
Dark copper colour. Fresh malty aroma with bit of hops sensed. Solid, bready maltiness with hop presence and slight caramel touch. A very clean and tasty beer. DSG (867), Yuvalim, Israel Aug 9, 2008 (6/31/08) Draught at the brewpub in Bamberg. Clear amber-brown with a white head. Aroma of toasted malt, some caramel and some bready notes. Sweetish malty flavor with some toasted bread, caramel and a slightly drier finish. Medium-bodied. Decent.
