On tap at Fässla in Bamberg. Beautiful, red-brow with a nice, creamy head. The aroma has notes of caramel and light citrus. The flavour has sweetness, notes of malt and caramel followed by a "quiet" phase before some long lasting grapefruit turns up. IMO at bit monotone and off balance.

Bottle from Beerbikers Svoger, my evil stepdad. Clear brown with medium white head. Aroma of mild sweetmalts some caramel and some mild toasted notes. Flavor is again sweet malty with some fruity notes and a grassy hob bitterness.

On tap at Fassla, Bamberg. Chestnut brown with white head. Another malt dominated, sweetish beer but this time with a darker roasted character. Fruity and smooth with hints of caramel. It’s ok.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Ealing Beer Festival.
Dirty brown colour with a thin off white head. Sweet and fruity with some tobacco. Diacetyl and caramel are rather too clear. Very sweet... erm... NEXT!

Bottle (BB Feb/08), Bamberg. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium brown. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted/roasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a light note of minerals. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Surprisingly lean for being 6%. Not a lot going on.
