Bottle. Clear amber, still and a great bottle. Aromas are sweet dark honey with citrus. Powerful in its alcohol with floral, herbal notes and hints of raisin. Flavours are honey and lemon with herbal notes. Toffee and spices, also, with flowery notes. Alcohol suspended in honey. Viscous.

Bottle from the brewery, drunk 8th July 2008. As the previous rater mentioned, this comes in a nice long necked flask (as a former chemist, it reminded me of the lab rather than medieval times!). Clear dark amber with a sweet honey nose, accentuated with spicy hints. Smooth, warming mouthfeel makes it very moreish. Good stuff. Watch out for the very special bottles due soon!

Bottle at my Sisters ... A wonderfull little find from Bitter Virtues in Southampton ... Wonderfull shaped bottle a bulbous bowl with a long thin neck that makes this look delightfull from the start ... But onto the mead itsself ... Nice dark amber colour ... nice sweet honey fruit nose ... warming with a nice mouthfeel ... lots of honey ... touch of ginger ? ... maybe a bit rough in finish but all in all well put together and worth a revist.
