There are notes of spices (pepper above all) , fruits (strawberries, pear, hint of citrus). The flavour is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. A mild and pleasant toasted note in the end. Medium body, lively carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness. Tasty and complex, very good. paiste2002 (158), Saugus, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 17, 2009 Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours a hazy medium brown with a foamy beige head. Aromas of cooked light fruits, roast malt, and citrus/yeast/spice. Near full bodied with frothy carbonation. Strong spice - like cardamom, cooked fruit, a bit citric, mellow roasted malt, subsiding to a mildly bitter finish. A metallic note at times. Not a big beer, but a good beer. A mild beer with a bit of zing. marcus (1885), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 17, 2009 This murky copper ale poured with a gorgeous foamy beige head and a funky barnyard aroma. The flavor is surprisingly subdued, unlike many of this brewer’s wild concoctions. Nevertheless,it is both interesting and delicious. The flavor is mildly spicy (maybe cardamom) and yeasty with a hint of fruit. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 1, 2009 5/07/2009: Fantôme Automne has a tarnished bronze color and is quite murky. The aroma has malt, fruit, and cherry. This beer tastes slightly oxidized. It is malty and contains unknown herbs, fruits, nuts, berries, and root flavors. There is some alcohol burn, but not too much. Overall this beer is good and seems quite mild for Fantôme. Maybe it has just mellowed with age...
