Thanks to Beerlando for sharing this one! Classic Fantome funkiness on the nose with a strong maltiness. Pours amber blonde with a thin white head. Peppery, funky, with some caramel, malty, a slight minty flavor with hints of marhmellow. Awesome.

Bottle courtesy of dkachur on 03/14/2009. Somewhat hazy dark amber body with ruby highlights. Sweet caramel with some earthy malt. Big caramel and earthy malt flavor, some light spicy hints. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

An orange-brown body with a thin white head. Sweet aroma, something almost reminds me of a nice sake. Taste again has some rice accents with a nice light apple and some grass. Smooth, yet slightly hot ending. Very nice.

750 mL bottle courtesy of Captain Cougar. Pours a slightly hazed copper color with a medium head. Good retention and decent lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, caramel, grain and an herbal finish. Taste is brown sugar, caramel, toastiness and light smoke. Subtle herbal note. Full bodied.

Huge thanks go out to FlacoAlto for hooking me up with this beer, thanks Sebastian! Poured a bright, ruddy orange color with a thick, dense, rocky beige head that left some nice lacing as it slowly receded. Aroma of rustic orange peel and light lemon, a hint of soft caramel, a bit of wheat paired with a light barnyard yeastiness and some faint floral hoppiness. Smooth, lightly sweet entry with some light tropical fruitiness and some dry orange peel offset by a soft spiciness and a moderate cobweb-like barnyard yeastiness that finishes lightly dry and bitter with some faint lingering hoppiness. Low carbonation and moderate mouthfeel thanks to the texture created by the yeastiness. Held up well considering the age, I bet it was awesome fresh. Thanks again Flaco, I owe you big time.

Bottle back from Greensboro. I was thankful and lucky to find this gem up there recently. Wild aroma dominated by some grass, floral esthers, and citrus. Slight sour flavor but more earthy with some citrus and spice. Pours is cloudy orange. Nice smooth drink with a bit of earthy, fruity character.

750mL bottle, courtesy of bstill. Thanks, Brian! Dark orange, thin off-white creamy head. Grassy wet mushroom aromas warm to hints of cheese and earth. Toasted grains and cooked veggie flavor round to a grassy light bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Though I normally like Fantome, this one was just not my cup of tea…

Big thanks to Beerlando for cracking this one. Moderate golden color, thin even white head. Musky, linty aroma, light caramel and dark fruit hints. Vaguely sweet funk on the taste, some herbal notes, some dusty attic tones, and some age apparent as well. In regards to the bottle we had, maybe a bit past its prime, but still it seems like a very centric Fantome in that it is very malty and less herbal. Aight.
