| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 12, 2009 In short: A very weird spicy fruity wild ale. For FantômeHeads only.
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed when about 1 year of age (about 1 year after first rating, one batch?)
The look: Cloudy pink-orange body (unusual color) topped by a white ring of foam
In long: Intriguing nose (even by unorthodox Fantôme standards) with a weird aroma that I’d describe as some kind of deodorant with a name like “Fruity Spicy Wilderness”. Taste is just plain unusual (even by unorthodox Fantôme standards). Oregano, spicy hard candies, light horse blanket funkiness, cleaning product, lots of cute aromatic flowers, old acidic orange juice, very astringent with a strange acidity, peaches, Sprite™ soda-pop, . And why not a a little sourness too. I’ll I’m very lenient when it comes to Fantôme eccentricities but this one tested my limits. I liked it because it is fucked-up and has a Saison countryside character but really this is just a “let’s throw a bunch of stuff in the tank and see what happens” type of beer. Not sure what to think of this beer (and now the brewery in general), I haven’t been this perplexed since I got “Error: Keyboard not found, press any key to continue”. Bright orange colour and a bubbly head. here are carbonation like bubbles present, yet there is little carbonation. A little lace remains. I never thought vinegar would taste so great, so this is extreme beer that is not hopped up. I like oregeno in any case, and this was unique, drinkable, and worth seeking out for sour fans, yet it is not too sour. Eructoblaster (1508), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Strong hoppy aroma with fruity, floral and herbal hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Taste is slightly misbalanced and lacks both robustness and complexity. Ends with a short bitter/sour finish. Average Saison. Bragesnak (2281), Aarhus, Denmark

Flav.: Bright tart fruits, some citrus, definite green herbs, spicy, a little funky; slightly off-dry with good tang and some bitterness.
A nice thirst quencher. Lubiere (4551), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
