Bottle. Amber body, a lot of rising carbonation, lots of yeast suspended, biggish off-white head. Peach in the nose, with some dark fruit, and brett. A fair amount of brett in the flavor, sweet, candy notes, peaches, spicy. I used to like the horsey brett in a beer such as this, but less so now.

Orange-brown in colour, large tan head, excellent lacing.
Aroma is very floral, lots of candy, very fruity, some yeast, oranges and perfume.
Flavour is musty, lots of perfume, flowers and herbal, light pepper, lots of candy sweetness, powdery.
Very sweet mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carb.
Finishes long, sweet, floral.

The malt only comes out at the very end. This had to be the weirdest of all the Fantoms I’ve had.

650ml bottle purchased at Premier Gourmet in Buffalo, New York.

Opened on March 26, 2009.

No date.

Deep cloudy copper with a fine sea-foam head. Dried apricot notes swirl with a sublime, yeasty spiciness in the nose. Flavor adds a lightly sweet blood-orange tartness that melds well with the rustic, earthy quality of the brew. Mouthfeel is neither too viscous nor too thin ... striding gracefully between the two. The soft, ample carbonation lifts the sweetness from your palate for a subtle and enjoyably clean finish. Supremely easy to drink, and at 8% ... it is no joke. After writing this, I’ve taken a look at a few other reviews, and it looks like I am rating this quite a bit higher than my brethren (never to discount my lovely brew-sisters). I cannot help it, I am simply enjoying this immensely. In general, if you tend to enjoy the peculiarities and nuances of Fantome ... let this one haunt you.

Bottle.

Could it be that I’m souring on Fantome? Light orange pour with a nice white head and thick lacing, Sour cidery aroma, flavor of over-ripe-to-the-point-of-spoiled oranges, sweet, sticky, and maybe slightly off in a Fantome way. Not dry enough for my taste, basically. Moderate herbal spicing. It’’s good, I guess...but not something I have any need to revisit.

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a huge white head leaving behind some very nice lace. Aroma is tart, spicy, earthy and funky. Flavor is slightly tart, woody, earthy, spicy, bready yeast. Some honey and tartness in the finish. Very enjoyable beer.

Bottle, thanks MiP! Hazy tan. Slightly tart aroma in that Fantomish way. Some spicy notes - pepper and coriander. Very peppery character. Tart, funky but in a stylish restrained way. Fantome weirdness again.

Bottled, thanks Oakes & Beershine! Cloudy pale orange. Funky barnyard aroma. Dryish with some yeasty vinegary tartness. Lactic with vital elastic malt. Lots of brett. Light salty finish. Ansolutely lovely!

Bottle, shared by MiP. Light hazy orange with small fizzy off-white cap. Aroma is a healthy dose of pedio funk, bones, fruit, white wine. Soft palate with lively nice effervescence. Nice sweetness with lactic character predominating the sour-funk. Mellow and smooth. Has lychee/rambutan. Very nice.
