A cloudy dark golden/orange beer with a huge, creamy, mostly lasting and lacing white head. The aroma is powerful and extremely spicy. Some malt, but overall the nose is dominated by oranges, lemon, grapefruit and especially tangerines. Good, but too citric for a total enjoyment. Some herbs too. The flavour is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Again orange and lemon dominated, but enough balanced. However very weird. Medium body, lively carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness and well hidden alcohol. It has its character (maybe too much) as usual from Fantome. Pretty good.

Good retention. Arôma is very fruity with oranges, peaches and apricot, slightly acidic with malt and sugar. Flavour is orange essence, natural oranges, candies, malt and light bittenress. Fizzy carbonation and medium body. Sammy (4062), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Initially very tasty orange, and creamy mouthfeel. A bomber is too much for even two people. Sweetish. Spider lace remains. Eructoblaster (1508), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 3, 2009 Bottle - 750ml. Nice hazy golden body with an average white creamy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with spicy and fruity (mainly orange) hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Refreshing, well balanced taste that carries citrusy and herbal notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Enjoyable. Glouglouburp (2881), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2009 In short: A weird yeasty Belgian ale blending over-the-top herbal flavours and thick juiciness. Inexplicably very good.
How: Bottle 750ml, corked. Consumed
The look: Cloudy dirty orange body topped by a medium off-white head
In long: The unusual nose is very herbal with oregano coming out strong as well as herbs like basil and such. All that on a layer of citrus fruits. Unusual for sure but not unpleasant at all, actually quite intriguing. Taste is pretty much what the aroma hinted on. Oregano, basil, some other dry herbs, condensed citrus juice, mangos. The dryness of the herbs was nicely counterbalanced by the juiciness of the fruity flavour components. I found my 750ml surprisingly easy to drink for such a herbal/spicy oddity and I could have gone for a second one. This is not a cohesive harmonious beer, if anything I suspect that a bunch of stuff was thrown into the kettle without a precise idea of what the end-product would taste like. I cannot objectively defend the merits such an oddball beer but honestly it kept me as entertained as watching two rats try to fuck a wool sock. malrubius (1004), Valley Stream, New York, USA

Nose of lemon, tea, lemon tea, orange, and lime. Flavor is very lemony as well, a sling twang of fantome funk, but mostly the former. Good stuff and very happy to be able to sample. The aroma is very unique- lots of lime, rind, bright fresh literal citrus with a mint note as well- reminiscent of a fresh well made mojito. Creamy body with a complex and dry flavor- citric lime rind with a touch of vanilla in the background. Has a spicy depth on the back ranging from mint leaf to white pepper. A very unique and interesting beer, like always from this brewer.
