Aroma of old malt, fresh wood, cellar. Medium body structure, some malt flavor; it has a nice woody astringency, tart, Belgian hops, good level of bitterness. Interesting and very good. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 20, 2006 750 ml. bottle. Hazy orange color with a huge off white head and lots of floaties. Nice musty, grassy aroma of tart apples, black pepper and some floral notes. Crisp, refreshing flavor that is light on the citrus, quite peppery, grassy, yeasty with a bit of caramel. iowaherkeye (1885), Los Angeles, California, USA

Aroma of big funk up front, along with some lemon and grass and dust. Also some pear and apples--the sour granny smith, mind you. Very tart up front, some dust and pepper help this out with a dry finish. I think I get a little leather as well--the rough side, not the smooth side (if anyone understands that, you get a gold star). Some weedy earthiness is also there. Medium bodied, very light carbonation. Lacing is good, and by the end of my glass the head is just a film. Very nice saison. peter (385), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 13, 2006 Nose of apples and must. brettanomyces cluxinelli, bitter orange and black pepper. Flavour matches the nose well. There is some wonderful funk happening in this beer, axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 3, 2006 Pour was a slightly hazy but relatively clean red/orange color with a foamy white head. The aroma is lemongrass, flowers, and baryard funk. Flavor starts off with sweet lemons, gets baryard, and earthy really quick and finishes with the same strong lemongrass flavor it started with. Quite enjoyable, and interesting. tjthresh (1782), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 3, 2006 Pours a hazy yellow orange with a full snowy white head. The aroma is all over the board with lemons, pepper, wild flowers, and some horse blanket character. Funky town in the flavor. Herbs, lemons, lactic, and leathery. Medium body and quite dry. Very interesting to say the least. Thanks to Indra for sharing. Good good stuff. JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 28, 2006 Thanks to Ztrvz for this one. Barnyard around that includes flowers. Cloudy gold and some head as well. Light herbal and fruity flavor, but so light that it is disappointing. Still good, but there should be more to this beer. Good, substantial body. Somewhat refreshing. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2006 750 ml bottle. Pours dark golden color with a decent head. Didn’t leave any lacing, but the head was still in ring form at the end of the glass. Nose was rather sweet. Caramel and sugar cane. Tartness was evident too. But the flavor is where the tartness really shines. Tart cherry or apple. Pear or grape. It’s actually all there. Still some caramel, but mostly sour fruit. The fruits all trasform into grapefruit at the finish for just a bit of bitterness. Pretty good stuff.
