| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 3, 2006 No head. Nose is an expansive dank hay with vanilla. Flavor is quite startling. Apply vinegar sourness hits you right away. This is balanced by chocolate malty notes. Finishes dry and sour. TheEpeeist (1491), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 10, 2006 750 mL bottle straight from the generous hands of Ernest and his cellar. This particular saison pours a brilliant, ever so slightly murky golden sunset orange, tinted more towards the yellow side of the spectrum, with a medium-sized frothy off-white head, of which most diminishes into a thin layer of film floating innocently on top of the beer and providing some lazily falling lacing. The fragrant aroma consists of sweet citrus and powerful lemon citrus, enough to nearly mask the yeast (earth, musty) and malt (meal). There is a faint passing of sour green berries, not yet ripe. Initially this brew is sour and has medium acidity and bitterness, tart hoppiness and then the yeast follows through keeping its presence known, all the while the burning sensation left behind by the acidity is fading from recognition. Medium to full bodied, slightly fizzy yet smooth, quite refreshing palate. thebeertourist (2822), Oslo, Norway
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 1, 2006 75 cl bottle. Hazy orange colour with a good cloying white head. Interesting cellar aroma like a bière de garde. Oranges and a good acidity. Starts sweet with notable oranges, turning drier. Citric acidity . Earthy notes are there, too. Rather fizzy and full-bodied. Above average, no doubt. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 30, 2006 The beer before decanting pours from the 750ml green capped and corked bottle a clear gold with a perfectly sized cream white head, the lace a thin silky sheet to cover the glass. Nose is spicy, hints of orange peel, crisp and fresh, with a tart backing; start is sweet, like carbonated fruit juice, light profile, back tart, and the top light in feel. Finish is burly in its acidity, with the tart sweetness carrying all the way to the chalk dry aftertaste, a yummy for the tummy.
(Note): After decanting, the nose has more earthy tones, and the color become quite cloudy as one would expect, I don’t know about you, but I love the “dregs”!

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 16, 2006 Ugly brown/bronze. Huge, sponge like, off white head. Aroma of musty barn funk, yeast, spices, sugar, grains. Same flavors with some fruit and some more funk in there, also. Balanced, medium body, very drinkable, perfect palate for a saison. Excellent. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2006 Dull orange with a loose off white head. Aroma of lime rind, grapefruit oil, apple esters, some minerals and musky horseblanket. Sharp and sour in flavor with a bitter finish. Has a lightly sweet fruit juice like quality in the middle. Interesting.
