A murky yellow orange appearance with a large head. The aroma is filled with vinegar, lemons, and oranges. The flavor is somewhat sour with a vingear and strong sour lemon presence. Probably my favorite Fantome thus far.

Beer pours a hazy, medium reddish-gold color with a large, off-white, foamy, mostly and quickly diminishing head and some pretty Belgian lacing left behind. The aroma is tart and earty: Lightly malty with a note of toasted grain; Moderately hoppy with notes of lemon, herbs, and light notes of resin/pine; Complex yeast notes of moderate cellar and horseblanket, light notes of bread yeast and Band-Aid; Miscellaneous notes of light sour apple, coriander and dishwater. The flavor is moderately acidic, moderately bitter and lightly sweet with a long, moderately acidic, lightly sweet finish. The body is light, the texture is medium and the carbonation is lively. Pleasant little beer.

London Gathering Nov 05: Hazy gold with no head. Malty, but not over the top. Nice spices and light fruit. Another easy drinking beer.

Bottle. Cork breaks, is a little soft; aroma is very skunky. Pours a yellow color with an overlowin foam head, tons of carbonation. Already thinking this has been mishandled although I took good care of it. In the glass, the aroma improves, and smells more yeasty, warm, cinnamon fruit. Tastes slightly floral lemon, but with a sour finish. way too much carbonation. Going to assume this bottle, not coincidentally a green bottle on an apparently delicate beer, got lightstruck. guess you can’t buy this from a deli that doesn’t have great turnover even though it carries good beer; I’m guessing the floursecent light damaged it. I’m rating this based on my experience with it, the average rating given here as a large adjustment, and then based on what I probably thought of this beer from the flavor I was able to taste beneath the skunk.

Tart, dry, funky, and distinctively Fantome. Lots of lemon braced by a hint of pepper and also wheat and woodiness. Fine, abundant carbonation. Good, but not one of my favorites from them.

750 ml bottle. Clear golden. Distinct citrusy aroma. Lemons! Smells like lemon soap. Enormous off-white head. Lots of carbonation. Other spices complement the citrus. Sourish and salty palate. Some citrus flavour with a yeasty background. Unbalanced. Notes of malt body in the back. A bit thin. Thick layer of loose sediment in the bottle. Dryish yeasty aftertaste. Subsequent pours are cloudy, and the yeast cloud makes the beer richer.

Huge, coarse-laced, off-white head. Bronze body with ongoing carbonation and some bubbles. Aroma dominated by lemon with a Belgian yeast profile behind it, together with mysterious spices. Excellent aroma, and very mysterious. Taste is deep and intense, again lots of lemon, somewhat sourish and salt-like, reminiscent of soap. The lemon is a little cloying, and before we pour the yeast in the body is a bit thin. Spicy taste lingers. Actually, this is in some ways reminiscent of a lambic. Taste is a little cloying and overdone. Still, an interesting beer, quite good. (0.75l bottle.)
