| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 15, 2005 Translucent and bright gold in color with a solid, jiggling, foamy and 1/3" off-white head. Aroma catapults out of the bottle with the cork’s removal, surging forth with green grape skin, lemon rind scrapings, lime juice, orange peel, crystallized sugar and squished pomegranate kernels. Flavor proceeds in like fashion and hits the spot. Souring compounds step to the head of the line but a sugary lemon drop characteristic pulls it back to make it its equal, as the procession now resumes two-by-two. Tangerines and grapefruit meld for the sweet and sour fruity ester dichotomy. Bright, resilient and substantive palate passion. Perfectly equated balance profile - perhaps the most balanced saison I’ve had the joy of meeting. Finish comes full circle with fading lemonheads, which still have some sugar gripping the sides as we suck the last of it down. One hell of a saison. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 14, 2005 Massive Saison...truly astonishing. Wasn’t quite sure to expect. Deep rich apricot colored beer. Sizzling rocky head. Foams for days. Lovely. Nose leaves me catatonic almost. Spicy and hazed over with citrus. Piles of ripe mandarin oranges. And then the coriander creeps around from the edges. Spicy and intoxicating. Flavors reflect all of the smells massively...MASSIVELY! A tad spicier. Citrus and wood at first. Perhaps like sucking on the stem of an orange tree and then this fades off into a hazy yeast explosion that is decadent. Perfect texture as well. A maxim for all others to follow.

Quite sweet, citrus fruit, yeasty, spicy and a light lambic like sourness. A good Belgian. maeib (4772), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England

A hazy golden coloured beer with a wispy white head. The aroma is funky and peppery typical of the style. The taste is funky with lemony and peppery notes. Funky, interesting and very tasty. Cheers Joe. harrisoni (6947), Ashford, Kent, England
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 14, 2005 Bottle at London Gathering Nov 05. Golden cloudy colour with no head. Sour lemon and other good citruic fruits. Finish has good fruits. Bit of farmyard. Somehow I detected lentils in the taste as well. More citric lime on the finish. My first Fantome, I think and it has stirred my interest to try others. Mungo (2473), Southampton, Hampshire, England

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 6, 2005 Pours a cloudy deep gold with a large tight white head and moderate lace. Aroma is Earthy and hoppy at first and then slightly musty with some orange peel and coriander hints. Flavor is surprisingly clean and crisp with a fair amount of funky earthy flavors but not overly so. Nice light bready malts and has a slightly salty yet crisp finish. Very yeasty towards the end of the bottle. A very straightforward saison.
