Bottle. Throw all the yeast in is my advice. This is like a mild gueuze, but with some funky spicy flavours. Mild sourness, with some wild earthy aromas and flavours, i don’t know what the spice is, i’m still trying to put my finger on it, slightly flowery in the finish, very nice. Typicaly subtle Fantome style. Nice.

Thin head of foam that goes away pretty quickly. Very good carbonation but only a thin wisp of foam remains. Fruity and spicey aroma with some honey and tartness. Color is a golden honey. Wow, did not expect this tartness. Pretty sour and fruity. Good alcohol warming with more spices. Raspberry and peach in there also. Very dry, tart finish that puckers the mouth. Not sure if this was supposed to be this way. Not my cup of tea. And there are much better Fantome’s out there.

Bottle. Reddish-amber-honey color with a thin white head. Sour aroma with some lemon. Sweet/tart flavor with lemon and some spiciness. A bit refreshing. Mixing in the yeast adds a touch of vomit that isn’t all that unpleasant. Here’s my take on this beer - it seems like the people who rate it high don’t mention a sour/tart flavor. The people who rate it low notice this. Infection? Who knows. But my bottle wouldn’t have been a bad gueze, but it wasn’t what I was expecting with it’s almost Cantillon like sourness.

peppermint cream aroma with some clove and corriander also. hazed orange with a white eggshell color. taste is acidic pine, cloves, mint and something floral. there is a definite tobacco note now that lumpy mentions it.

Bottle. Nice light hazy orange body. Nose has notes of coriander, pepper, dry spice, and lotion. Taste-minty, malty, nice hops on the backend. Finish is very clean and minty. As it warms, notes of tobacco really come out. Very complex and multi-layered. Watered down OJ, some funk on the nose, citric, well done. a whole lot funk.

I like Fantome for the fact that their beer isn’t like everyone elses. That whole farmhouse mentality really works for me. This beer is a pretty decent one, I don’t remember the aroma too much, but it was solid, nothing special, nothing bad. The flavor was very complex, there was fruitiness and some tartiness as well. Both mixed very well and created a beer that is very fresh and interesting.

Pours golden orange in hue. Small white head. Sweet, citrus zest nose, faintly spice, slightly ginger. Palate is the same, with bready malts, great soft mouthfeel, super funked out yeasty finish. Most definately Fantome, this is quite good. Very nice tartness. A round beer with great finesse, and delicious flavor. I am always more and more impressed with these guys. I tried this with a baby arugala salad, with black pepper, and ripe plum. A very tastey endeavor I must say.

My favorite part of this brew is the smell. Oh sure, it looks great, a hazy orange with yellow highlights, tiny yeast (I hope) particles, and a huge rocky yellowish head. The aroma has citric scents as the base, a tart orange with lemon zest. On top of that is a hodgepodge of spicing running the gamut from ginger to anise to chamomile to white peppers to Eris knows what! Add to this a grassy, musty, barnyard funkiness... When I remembered to drink some, too, I met the same whirlwind of flavors dominated by a citric acidity with a light, bready malt as its near-forgotten base. The finish was sour enough to get my mouth watering. Or maybe I was thirsty. Nice Saison.
