Sweet malty flavor fades away quickly a leaves you with a long spicey finish. Light body and fizzy. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 16, 2005 #1500. Hazy brilliant copper, firm, lasting white head. Nose grassy, mildly sour and musty, some apple, sugar, and perfume. Somewhat surprised by the flavor, incredibly dry stuff, has a restrained, punchy sourness, a bit dusty as well. Flowery and mildly fruity. Odd finish, leaves a bit of a sandy texture in the mouth. legion242 (1588), Richardson, Texas, USA

Good head and nice color, but immediately I taste an almost Gueze like tartness: quite unexpected. Atyed tart throught the whole bottle- 750ml’s of it :( skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2005 Pours straight yellow, and only lighly cloudy. Bone dry from the second it hits the tongue. Something in the aroma covers the flavor slightly. I can’t pinpoint it. A little sour on the edges. Not my favorite Fantome mdi (573), Nebraska, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 26, 2005 75cl, 2004 version AFAIK. Had to force the head a bit, and didn’t get much at that...odd for a Fantome bier! Glowing golden, nice lacing though...Awesome aroma, bordering on light struck, dosed in fruitiness, candi banana, Laffi Taffi...spiciness too, leaning towards some sort of basil perfumey essence...Its useless for me to try to put my finger on what this tastes like (or any Fantome really). Somewhat resembles some of Dany’s "straight" Saison that I’ve had in terms of spicing, but I keep thinking of Rosemary w/ this and some tartness herbal sort of...perfume, musk...aroma galore, fascinating beer, pretty tasty too, but the perfume tasting finish bothers me a bit...maybe should have aged it more, I can see the potential for using this in cooking chicken. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 23, 2005 A complex, rather dry and spicy Saison beer from a terrific brewery. Extremely hard to get here in NYC, but I found it at Spuyten Duyvil bar in Brooklyn. sayravai (3787), Helsinki, Finland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2005 (Bottled, 0.75l) Murky orange color with a smallish but tight and lasting head, and lots of solid yeast particles flowing. Very mild, slightly sour and flowery-fruity aroma. Dryish-malty, quite yeasty, somewhat hoppy flavor. No signs of alcohol. Medium-bodied, low-carbonated, quite refreshing palate. A nice, but quite plain, dryish and easily drinkable brew. Quite similar to Liefmans’ Jan van Gent. Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 18, 2005 Murky tangerine with a large and distinct head of foam. Aroma is heavily spiced with hints of orange peel, curacao, cocoa powder along with a touch of sour fruit (tangerine especially) and strawberry jam. Flavor is bursting with fruit and spice; the fruits being a blend of peaches and nectarines while the spices are loaded with orange zest (coriander, bitter orange peel), along with a suprisingly dry and herbaceous blend that I can’t quite identify. This is my 13th different Fantome beer and this has by far the most spice character. Very delicious.
