Malt is light with notes of orange, ginger, honey, very lightly spiced. Clean, refreshing finish. Moderate acidity, some subtle sourness in the finish. Not as spicy as I like in the style, but well-balanced and refreshing. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 23, 2004 750 ml bottle, with a cork that fairly ripped the corkscrew out of my hand and an unending stream of foam that filled three glasses and still continues to writhe and contort out of the bottle. Wonder how much liquid I’m losing? Oh well, the product finally settled in the glass is a rich, cloudy gold with massive sediment obvious. The nose is very sour, earthy and lightly orangy, quite brilliant. On the tongue, one of the firmest and most voluptuous mouthfeels I’ve ever experienced, velvet sour-pear, honey, vanilla and sour oranges, with hints of pepper and brandy towards the finish, and more than a hint of cola. Incredibly impressive, mind-and-palate expanding stuff, my new fave from Fantome and of this style. I got it, I finally got it. Hansen (2289), Randers, Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 17, 2004 me mates thought it like a tasteless cider. Beige yellow. My mature tastebuds found it a very good yeast preparation. In the yeast peach, lemon, celery. Good with spicy veggies. krisbierjaeger (844), dolores, Colorado, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 10, 2004 ah, what a festive thing is a big corked bottle from belgium-- one well-rated and one moreover given by a friend who says, with a backslap and a knowing wink: "i think you’ll REALLY like this..." indeed, indra, i did. the gourmande shook free of her corky constraint and slid into the glass, warming the entire room with an opaque, daisy-pollen yellow body as vibrant as a candle flame. capped like a pound cake with white frosting, the lace found lovely and lazy little rivulets to describe down the glass. the aroma is a caressing thing to wrap around one’s face, with bright woody notes, the smell of crushed mint and verdant dandelion leaves, white grapes and woodruff, yeast and the essence of the honey sweet cookie confection the french call petite coeurs (little hearts). tasting like part ’wit’ and part abbey triple, the yeast -- raised from it’s ravenous youth on candy sugar and biscuit-tasting malts, give the palate creaminess and the body strenghth in the form of alcohol. sweet and delicious with a mild lemony apperatif of bitterness, you taste white wine-- both cask and cork, the zest and grainy wheat of an orange danish, and the spice of liquid baklava. thanks eric, you were so right. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 2, 2004 This was the last beer that I consume with the Montreal guys, my notes aren’t too good and I am feeling pretty rocked. Orange color its translucent. Aroma is yeasty, sweet and peppery. Hints of clove and pepper. Flavor is tart. Lively carbonation. Tart finish. Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 2, 2004 This Saison is pretty overrated. Quite watery and boring. Too much unfermented yeast, which is unpleasant. no frut nor spice notes.
