dark yellow with a slight haze, lots of carbonation, nice head that’s easily activated, slightly sweet spicy aroma, hints of pepper, light dry balanced malt flavor, hint of spices and pepper, nice lemon, low on esters, nothing really distinctive, but a good drinking beer, pepper becomes very pronounced in the aroma after warming,

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2004 Very cloudy beige. Funky, spicy, sour aroma - you know this is Fantome right away. Lightish, flowery (chamomile), funky and acidic. Probably one of the more straightforward Fantomes but quite delicious nonetheless. A statement in understatedness. fiulijn (7420), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

Aroma of old malt, fresh wood, cellar. Medium body structure, some malt flavor; it has a nice woody astringency, tart, Belgian hops, good level of bitterness. Interesting and very good. harrisoni (6830), Ashford, Kent, England

Sour lemon and other good citruic fruits. Finish has good fruits. Bit of farmyard. Somehow I detected lentils in the taste as well. More citric lime on the finish. My first Fantome, I think and it has stirred my interest to try others. bierkoning (6094), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2004 Golden color. Creamy head, fading away slowly. Aroma has ripe apricots and is somewhat perfumed. Apricot flavor, tackled by some hops and more herbs. Coreander and nutmeg, maybe, can’t say for sure. The fruit and herbs don’t coïncide, but fight eachother. Still a good and tasty beer, but could be much more balanced. thewolf (5822), Kolding, Denmark

Pours hazy, pale yellow with a nice, creamy, white head. Super lacings. Aroma has pepper, other spices, brett, sweet malts. Just wonderful. Low carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is dry, quite spicy, light grassy, pepper and grainy, bready malts. Very nice, just sad that the flavour doesn’t quite live up to the aroma.
