Aroma is very grassy with notes of caramel, barnyard, pepper and light spices. Flavor is mostly the same, probably the grassiest flavored beer I’ve had. Dandelions though? Sure why not. An interesting Saison. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA

Nose is buttery and rich, sitting atop a murky brew with a fizzy dissapating head. Taste is honey, honey and more honey. Finish is short and dry. gearbike (418), West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 21, 2006 Cork & Bottle - Baton Rouge, La. - 750 ml bottle. Hazy, dark orange pour - looks like I remember nectarine juice looking like as a kid. Initial thick, bubbly, off-white head, sticks around just a bit. Clean, sweet aroma, very faint hints of licorice, some bubble gum and a lemony undertone to round it out. Flavor is sweet and refreshing. Some subtle fruit notes - nectarines perhaps, some vinegar sourness, and a sweet citrus undertone in the back end - somewhere between lemons and oranges. Also detect some Christmas spices in there as well - quite a mouthful. Mouthfeel is spritzy, but not in a distracting way. Thick enough. Impressed. Can’t say I taste the dandelions though! | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 31, 2006 Thanks to Dickinsonbeer for sharing this at the January gathering. Poured a cloudy effervescent amber with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is a strange mix of sweet floral qualities and a grassy bitterness with a hint of smoke. Taste is very dry and acidic with floral smokiness coming through quite prominantly. Well made and unusual. atpayne (615), Zionsville, Indiana, USA

Standard cloudy golden saison pour with a white head. The aroma is vinegar, grape, and a bit funky. It has a nice presence in the nose. The taste is a lot like apple cider and then also has some vinegar character, but with an overriding sweetness that lingers after the vinegar enough to make the finish quite nice. Pours a thick, white, creamy head with a reddish-amber, highly carbonated body. The nose is classic Fantome: musky, grass clippings, lemon, dirty laundry, golden raisins and malt. The creamy malt flavour upfront melds into a mix of wild farmhouse yeast, coriander and orange pith. Very elegant and worthy of a relaxing evening with a book.
