EricE (446), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Feb 15, 2008 On draft at Max’s. Light yellow amber pour with a thin white head. Slight aroma of sweet honey, melon, and citrus. Bitter with fruit and lemon flavor. Actually tasted a little like soap to me. Not bad, but not a big fan of it. auderale (572), Fairchild AFB, Washington, USA Feb 2, 2008 Hazy brown colored pour with little head. Yeasty, grainy aroma with a bitter roasted malts finish. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 2, 2008 Pours a rather dark amber brown with a smaller creme head. Nose is slightly yeasty and grassy, but rather mild. Certainly not what I have come to find other Fantome brews to be. Flavor is a bit different than I am used to from these guys. I get a subdued sweet with a tart ending. Almost a old grass influence, but very mild. Touch of wood. Tangy is the key word here I think. Feel is fairly standard for the style. It is drinkable, sure. But I am wondering if this is a bad bottle. There is nothing really exciting or interesting about this beer I think. I enjoy other productions from the brewery much more. ratman197 (3135), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jan 24, 2008 750 ml green bottle poured a hazy gold with a lasting creamy white head. Ar4omas of straw, mint, lemon and light spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, lemon, mint and light spice with a crisp dry lightly bitter finish. sayravai (3720), Helsinki, Finland Jan 5, 2008 (Bottled) Hazy reddish amber with a smallish, lemonadey and quickly fading head. Very citrus-fruity and beautifully perfumy aroma with lots of spices (orange-peel, coriander, etc.). Lightly tart and heavily fruity, lightly spicy and pleasantly perfumy-hoppy flavor. Medium-bodied, somewhat foamy-carbonated, dryish and very refreshing palate. Like a saison with some lambic added - lovely, balanced and refreshing! The yeast is not bad, but better be left out still. Drink it straight from the fridge! maretak (2), Leuven, Belgium does not count Jan 4, 2008 (75 cl bottle) Pours a nice hazy gold with creamy head that laces nicely. Aroma is fantastic - citrus and bread, with hints of honey and grass. Complex flavor has lots of citrus (lemon and grapefruit) and herbal spiciness. FInish is dry with a nice bitter bite. I really enjoyed this one, but have a weakness for saison style beers. VikingHammer (362), Lynnfield, Massachusetts, USA Jan 3, 2008 Murky Orange brown pour with a big fluffy off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of spices and dark fruits. Sour with a some lively carbonation. Light to medium mouth feel. Dry and spicy finish. Skyview (4003), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Dec 31, 2007 Sampled from 750 ml bottle, I don’t recall who to thank for sharing this one at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits last summer. Pours a cloudy golden pale brew with plenty of white fizzy head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of yeast funk, some fruity character with honey and something reminding me of some plastic styrene. Taste is medium bodied, slightly acidic with flavors of citrus zest, green vegetable, and some lime. Finish is metallic and acidic. hard to say if this one needs some aging or was infected. Willing to try again.
