| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 12, 2006 A very well carbonated beer, after carefully pouring this beer to create as little foam as possible, I still end up with a three-finger thick head that almost runs over the top of my tulip glass. The head forms a rocky, yet fluffy surface, which sits atop a fully hazy orangish straw gold color. As I pour this beer I get aromatic notes of Fantôme funk; lightly sour with a solid fruity interface. The aroma is quite fruity; it smells of apples, melon, pears and even some tart plum like notes. The aroma is so light and refreshing, just so inviting and so typically embodying the best of Fantôme aromatics.
The beer is nice and light on the palate, easily quaffable, and with its high carbonation almost ephemerally as it vaporizes on the tongue. This beer has a nice, noticeable, yet not dominating sour tartness to it that reminds me of pears, and a tart green apple. This beer is quite fruity, even though there is almost no sweetness left in this beer. It is quite dry with a nice grain character that shows just under the dominant fermentation character. This beer is so refreshingly light, a perfect beer for hot weather (interestingly enough it has been almost 90*F here today). There is not a whole lot to say about this beer other than it is an incredible Saison!

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 8, 2006 Translucent and magnifying brass in color with an icy, bubbly sheet for the head and beady, cascading lace. Confounded aroma runs amuck with honeyed pinot grapes, greasy lemons, clean linen, subtled cackled white pepper and coriander, mandarins and mums. Flavor is blooming with herbaceous sentiments. Ragweed, pollen and pils malt cut through. Ginger and thyme. Quite the hoppy little number as well. Semi-sugar starved papaya flavors meld with rancid and sharp grapefruit rinds. Soured apricots, but never cresting. Lacks a certain fullness. Big, clean and bitter scrape takes a partial layer off the palate. Mildly effervescent, lacking sweetness, and even more hidden by the bitterness input. Slight trace of alcohol in the finish and prickly pincers tick at the tongue’s tip. Uninspiring. diabel (1369), Aarschot, Belgium
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 5, 2006 Bottled at ZBF 2006, Sint-Niklaas, Belgium - Dany told me it was still very young. Murky, amber body. Off-white head. Very interesting, sourish aroma of horse blanket, earth, banana, tawny port. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter initial flavour. Lightly bitter finish. Lightly to medium bodied. Lively carbonation. A nice Fantome brew. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 4, 2006 The beer upon its debarking the capped and corked 750ml green bottle sets in the glass a tarnished gold with a slight haze that clears after warming to the glass and room, the head is Herculean in size, creamy in texture and the color a bright white, as it slowly depletes the lace forms a thick and concealing sheet. Nose is a spicy mix of lime, wet wool blanket, sweet malt, and some wet fresh cut hay, start is sweet and has a nice grain presence, with a tartness at the back, top is light to moderate in feel. Finish is mild in its acidity with a crisp tartness that lingers long on the palate. Interesting beer light and really it does leave your breath kind of minty on the aftertaste. Dull light honey coloring. Head is small and lingers to nothing for a bit. Kind of a bready head nose. Malty light spicey. Alcohol is inperceptable. From Knightly Spirits in Orlando.
