Sickboy282 (1098), San Diego, California, USA Jan 2, 2005 Poursa hazy golden hue with a frothy white head. Aromas of skunk, wheat and a little yeast. Flavors of honey, yeast, and a little spice. desurfer (1067), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA Nov 19, 2004 Pours a very hazy gold with a ginormous head. Aroma is typical saison farmhouse funk, grassy, herbal, and musty. Flavor is nice, there’s a sharp bite initially, which fades into a smooth grassy hoppiness. Finishes dry and tart. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Nov 18, 2004 Sweet, lager aroma with alcohol evident. Hazy, light gold. Small, white head. Excellent lace. Really rich flavor. Grassy and vegetal. Heather? Saffron? Very unique. Allspice? Clove. Very nice. Would buy again. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark Nov 18, 2004 Cloudy orange with a foamy white head. Sharp fruit and yeast aroma with hay tones. Dry and harsh flavor. Hayish with some smokey tones. Tastes like a wet dishcloth!! Quite unique like the other Fantôme I have had, but Saisons will never be my favorite.... hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA Nov 18, 2004 Quite interesting. Citrus, almost minty aroma. This one is hard for me to define, which had a lot to do withmy liking it. It was just very complex, a bit sour, some fruityness, some malts, and yeast. I’d like to see what else this brewery has to offer. madsberg (4873), Søborg, Denmark Nov 17, 2004 Bottled: Light yellow dusty colour. Fluffy white head. Yeast, malt and light citric notes in the aroma. Flavour is slightly smoked and very citric. Is sour, dry and fruity. Has some spicy notes. Has a grapish end. Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA Nov 17, 2004 Sour and spicy aroma. Pours cloudy hazy yello with a medium fluffy white head. Lame flavor, spicy and sour. I really dont get saisons and i dont get why people are raving so much about this brewery, how bout some consistency? Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 21, 2004 Cloudy and medium golden; fluffy white head. Soft and smooth; light and creamy carbonation. Malty (cookies, bread dough) and yeasty throughout. Very balancing bitterness. Spicy aroma. Finish is kind of drying and lingers with quite a few flavors (sweet orange, zesty lemon, big pepper, gentle clove, and some other spices I can’t seem to define). Pleasant beer. Fairly easy to drink, but it still kept my interest through the whole bottle.
