Light, fruity and champagne-like. Fantôme brews special seasonal beers, never repeating a recipe from year to year. This one is for spring . . .

An opaque dark amber beer with a fine off-white dense head. The aroma is sweet with notes of yeast and fruit. The flavor is sweet and sour with notes of grapefruit, citrus, roasted bread, malt, and hints of coffee. A nice beer from a good brewery.

(Bottle 75 cl) Slightly cloudy, pale golden with a small, off-white head. Lightly tart aroma with a whiff of cork. Medium-bodied with lightly tart, Brettish accents and a touch of citrus. Somewhat fusty with notes of cork. Subdued bitterness. 301107

From bottle, no 2 at Papsoes blindtasting. Pours hazy yellow and with a diminished white head. Citrus and orange fruity aroma, brett-ish. Flavour is citric towards brett-ish. There too much lemon here. Ends with a mild citric lingering finish and with dry almost woody tone.

Bottled. Hazy nutbrown colour, small white head. Aroma is earthy, yeasty and hoppy. Flavour is caramel malts, earth and grassy hops. Wellbalanced, but at the same time very acidic and sour.

Bottle. Hazy orange brown coloured with a huge but fast disappearing head. Aroma of dried fruits, fruits and spices. Flavour of fruits and spices with notes of grapes and dusty notes.

hazy yellow, good white head, musty horse blanket aroma, explosion of complex malt flavors with lots of subtle spices, needs much more research

A light effort from the mad brewer. Amber colour, dry, yeasty, peachy and sweetish. A good dose of hops for the style. Good, but to me it’s like one of the really good Fantomes with all the fun stuff taken out.

Corked bottle

Cloudy blond color. Very interesting aroma, sour, with cellar smell, cork, light grapefruit, very light vanilla. The flavor is much less interesting, built on a weak body, with more astringency than acidity. Weird.
