Radiant copper liquid. Dirty white, frothed foam. Predominant floral aroma with underlying autmn leaves, freshly churned butter, lemon zest, concrete, corn stalk, spruce tips, and a touch of caramel. Round, lightly spritzy, palate. Initial herbal flavors. Earthy, soil backdrop with a hint of sassafrass, yeast, and mint. Finishes with buttery dandelion aspects and coarse, earthy hops. Reminiscent of drinking from a soil residued flower pot.

This is really great. Pours a cloudy yellow gold, with a big foaming head. Aroma is initially funky with alot of grassy herbs, wet hay and general other funk, along with a yeasty bready malt. Flavor is bready malts, quite a bit of yeastiness with just a touch of tartness, and then a nice long bitter hoppy finish, along with some lingering herbal flavors. But its the bready yeasty malts that tie everything together here - everything else is a complement. Very refreshing and spritely with full carbonation and a fluffy airy palate.

Murky orange in colour. Aroma of apples, pears, oranges, cider and yeast. Flavour was slightly sweet, yeasty, oranges and apples, funky sourness. Medium body. Finishes with a tangy medium bitterness. Quite good.

Pours hazy amber with a sudsy off-white head. The aroma is odd. There is citrus, spice, dandelions, lemons and a strange sharpness. Medium / light body with a crisp feel and welcome light stinging carbonation. The flavor starts with dandelions, grass, dried fruits, odd sourness, some funky yeast, sharp citric acid and stinging carbonation ~ a lot is going on here. The finish is sour, bitter and quite refreshing and it has a beautiful saaz-like hop quality. This is 8%??? Where??? Thumbs up for this great example of a world class saison.

Bottle: Poured a hazy brown with a white head. The aroma was earthy outdoor fruit. The taste was spice and roasted like with a tangy dry finish.

Interesting and complex aroma, with notes of various leafy herbs and spices, tangerine, orange, cellar must, leather, dark, honeyish sweetness, bready yeast and light fumes of peppery alcohol. Medium orange-amber color, with a lasting creamy, rocky head. Flavor is a blend of malt sweetness, citric tartness and spice, gaining more acidity, bitterness and hop flavors towards the finish. Some vague woody hints. Very nice. Thanks to mabdoney for this one.

Bottle (ZBF06): Mild spice, sweet caramel. Suprisingly simple in flavour, yet very moreish. Refreshing.
