Oct 14, 2002 Hazy orange body with big off-white head. Aroma of cloves and other spices. Flavor is strong spiciness, rich and malty. Hint of astringency in the aftertaste. It’s interesting, even good, but I can’t see me going back to it later.

Hazy dark orange color, no head. Earthy, banana fruity aroma. Earthy, fruity, cellary, funky, some strawberry, some hay in the flavor. Typical crazy Fantome saison - propbaly brewed with strawberries.

Dec 1, 2007 Pours a hazy golden colour. Sour moldy aroma. The flavour is bitter, sour, herby and yeasty with some lemon. Dry herby bitterish finish.

May 1, 2004 Bottle. Blonde color, cloudy. Strong peppery aroma with seaweed, licorice, coreander, orange and sesame seed. Sweetish flavor with lemon, grapefruit, licorice, sesame seed and coreander. Wit less emphasis on the added herbs this would be a great beer, now it’s a good beer.

Feb 25, 2005 (750ml bottle) Pours a lightly cloudy orange body with a large rocky white head. Aroma is tart at first and then is musty like that of old books. Palate is soft, somewhat acidic, and bitter. Flavor is tart with spicy yeast, white grapes, cirtus, and other spices.

Feb 1, 2004 15 celsius in a trappist glass: Hazy liquid gold appearance, marvelously shiny. 1cm head that could last longer. Pure fresh cut grass emanes from this holy grail. Ridiculous amount of fine herbs (Chives, alfalfa, parsley) gives this seducing nose an almost botanic feel. In mouth, a weird fruitiness joins the blend, red bays, currant, coriander, sage. Quite hard to describe and original like any other of the house's creations. Finish also keeps this kind of herbal fruitiness and you just can't help but feel this has been made from quality water from a good well or straight from a pollution-less cascade. Different and refreshing in its wet hay acidity, but I doubt I'd buy again. Props to Martin for that generous sample!

Sep 27, 2003 Pours a cloudy orange brown with a puffy tan head. Barnyard aroma with some subtle malty notes. Body is semi-tart, with good thickness and bready qualities. The finish is dry and earthy. Overall, a good example of the style and quite drinkable.
