Aroma of apricto, lemons and spices. Flavor is similar with a very spice/herb body to it. Palate is smooth, spicy and a VERY interesting brew! Thanks to Silphium for this one! erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 15, 2005 Pours deep gold with a white bubbly head. Aroma is somewhat skunky and light lemons. Flavor is slightly oxidized with a great hoppy grassiness. Some band-aid flavors. Dry hoppiness. Pretty clean but that house character still shines through. Very refreshing, fruity enjoyable, and above all else, fascinating.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 2, 2004 Good golden cloudy, sharp fruits, acid, berries, apples, sweetness, little yeasty odor. Taste: peachy, very fruity, medium acidity, low bitterness, then more berries, tannic strain coming thru in the middle and end. Yeehaw. Fairly straight-froward: fruit and refereshment, little funk. Very accessible. Grainy note in finish. Tart. Good! Thanks, wunder! urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2004 Fantome is one of my favorite breweries in the world, but I cannot say that this particular beer rises to the genius level of its other offerings. I note the great Fantomish aroma and I pick up some very cool woody and fruit notes just before the whole thing descends into a sourness that is overwhelming. I’m much happier with their basic, magnificent, Saison. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Pours a rather dark amber brown with a smaller creme head. Nose is slightly yeasty and grassy, but rather mild. Certainly not what I have come to find other Fantome brews to be. Flavor is a bit different than I am used to from these guys. I get a subdued sweet with a tart ending. Almost a old grass influence, but very mild. Touch of wood. Tangy is the key word here I think. Feel is fairly standard for the style. It is drinkable, sure. But I am wondering if this is a bad bottle. There is nothing really exciting or interesting about this beer I think. I enjoy other productions from the brewery much more. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 10, 2005 Corked and capped bottle pours a cloudy and hazy bright golden-orange with a huge frothy clingy off white head that leaves a sticky lacing in the glass that lasts, fruity lemon, grass and funky yeasty aromas. Fruity sour apple, pear and spicy flavors, peppery and dry finish. Medium bodied with a crisp, carbonated mouthfeel, I love it. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 14, 2003 This beer is almost like a gueuze. It has a wonderful aroma, there is a lot going on there. Much tart green apple freshness on the tongue for flavor, along with other things that I am not good at describing. This would be a good beer to give to someone who was thinking of moving up to lambics, but if you don"t want to scare them away with the full blown deal. I like how Fantome calls all of their beers Saisons, when they all taste like something else! This is a very interesting brewery. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Pours a hazy gold color with an inch or more of thick white foam. Very nice spidery lace. I smelled a strong, pungeant, tart cider aroma as I poured the beer into my glass.
First sip - sour. I taste some unripe apple and lemon. A little grapefruit too. Beyond the tartness, there is a peppery-clove spiciness. Something suggests to me that the spiciness comes from spices, and the hops, and the yeast strain. Medium bodied, with lots of fizzy carbonation. Lots more of that spice when the yeast from the bottom of the bottle is stirred up.
The most sour Fantome I’ve tried yet, but that’s what I’m looking for. Very good beer.
