A good dose of hops for the style. Good, but to me it’s like one of the really good Fantomes with all the fun stuff taken out. mtoast (316), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Consumed on my porch on the first stinking hot evening of the year. Poured a nice hazy golden color with short lived fizzy foam. Aroma is straight up Lipton lemon flavored iced tea mix, not the tea itself, but the powdered mix. Strange. First sip is a huge contrast to the aroma, big tidal wave of orange peel like bitterness with hints of candi sugar. Second pour gives me... is that a hop particle? Yay small breweries! Why do I still have xmas lights on my porch?? For the final pour I let some yeast infiltrate my glass in attempt to fight the bitterness, it works to a point, giving a somewhat nutty balance to the bitter orange peel onslaught. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2004 Rather sweet nose, cinnamon spice, sweet pepper, light toffee. Complex aroma yes, but that’s not what I expected. Light tartness, some green apple, some woody feel, earthy trends. Pleasant display, much more organized than chaotic aroma. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2004 Fruity nose, hazy, murky apricot colour, with a small cream head. Flavours of apple, pear, lemon and yeast? Sweet, but not funky as would be expected from this brewer. Light bodied, spritzy. Good stuff nevertheless! Thanks IPFreely! argo0 (7011), Washington DC, USA

Flavor is strong spiciness, rich and malty. Hint of astringency in the aftertaste. It’s interesting, even good, but I can’t see me going back to it later. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
