Jun 6, 2005 Sampled at le Mondial de la bière 2005. Pours a hazy light orange color with a thin white head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Appealing aroma of spices and perfume with a mild touch of earthy and funky tones. Flavor of citrus, spices and perfume with mild earthyness and funkyness. The body is light to medium, the texture creamy and dry, the carbonation is soft.

Hazy orange-yellow with a huge, fuzzy and rocky, lasting head that formed okay lacing. Yeasty, woody, grape, apricot, and hops fill the aroma with some sweet malt. Dry, woody grape flavour with some sweet yeast. Notes of apricot, tart peach and apple. Tingly sweet and not alcoholic tasting. Warming in the mouth with plenty of carbonation and a clean finish. Excellent.

May 26, 2005 Pours acloudy yellow with a long lasting white head. Sour almost lemony aroma with a hint of spicieness. Nice clean refreshing mouthfeel. Acidic lemony flavors hit you first, followed by a light spicieness and some pepper. Nice crisp finish leaves you wanting more.

May 24, 2005 This is definetely one of the best belgian beers I have ever had. The flavor is very fruity, there is a definite strawberry component, nothing in here is overpowering or lacking, everything about this beer is basically right on. If you can try this beer, it is worth it!!

May 23, 2005 Fantome Saison off tap. How can I pass this one up. I’ve had it out of a bottle before, but this was a superb beer experience. The sweet nectar was poured off tap into a Fantome tulip glass. The beer was a beautiful oranged yellow color wtih a thick billowing head over top that didn’t want to fall for anything. What a nose. Lemon, acid, slight pepper, grapefruity citrus. Damn. All I can say. Nirvana. The nose was great...the flavor was perfection. There is an underlying mandarin orange sweetness that is overlayed with huge lemony citrus acidity and peppery notes. There is a whole lot more going on in there, but I couldn’t put pen to paper and give it justice. Suffice to say it was orgasmic. The feel was right below moderate, exactly where it should be. My only issue was that I was drinking it in the dead of winter, when I thought it should be a summer brew. Overall, I think it is second to none. I could have parked my glass under the tap all night and just drank this. If I ever find it, I will be forced to see if I can get a keg for home. I will actively seek this beer out whenever I can.

May 22, 2005 Interesting flavor and smell. Very good lacing. Complex taste, good kick. Musty aroma. Good finish. Good summer beer.
