The aroma is sweet and OK hoppy - without being extreme. The flavor is sweet and only somewhat hoppy, with a dry hoppy end and a thin body. An OK beer - but I’d expected more. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 30, 2005 Cloudy dark amber colour. Fruity (blackberry, apricot) aroma with hints of wood and toast. Woody-fruity palate. Moderately bitter as the ample toasty and brown sugary malts balanced the measured hopping. Slightly buttery towards the finish. Typical PNW quaffing IPA. hopdog (5604), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Citris, pine, and fruity smells. Nice bitter start and finish. Fruity flavor with a nice hoppy finish. Very good IPA Rastacouere (5559), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 10, 2006 Deep golden shade displaying a light white film. A solid malt base offers more than crystals for once, giving appealing toastiness-> darkish malts despite the pale malt sensation. They contribute a foundation on which the hops rise strongly herbal, spicy, sage-like and with competent leafy and lightly floral aromatics. Interesting hop complexity with solid malt background is what I look for in a PACNW IPA. The bitterness shows lasting, confident, while the hops remains floral, herbal and spicy and a slight watery slice cuts through right before the finish to enhance drinkability, especially that the crispish light-medium body bears a texture you want to come back to. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 9, 2004 Pours a clear copper color with a lacey white head. Has a dry, fresh hoppy aroma wirh a touch of sweet caramel malt. Body is a mix of sweet and dry with caramel malt and floral hop interplay. Finishes dry and hoppy with a crisp bitterness. A decent IPA. JorisPPattyn (5182), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2006 Draught Thick yellowish head, leaving lace; orange-amber beer. Very dry hoparoma packed with characteristic C-hops, cookies. Hop-bitter, orangey flavour, roses, discreet caramelly but not sweet malts. Rather light MF, undercarbonated as so many here. OK IPA, some good points, agreable nose. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 9, 2006 Any first impressions?
-Deep, fiery orange sunset highlighting a lasting film of foam.
-Herbal hops rise over potent, nondescript maltiness.
-Very fine carbonation wades in a bulky, soothing mouthfeel.
-Orange pulp carries its fruitiness onto the competent malt.
What if you dig deeper?
-Some peachy fruitiness enlivens the sweet maltiness.
-Floral dew colours the grassy hops.
-Peppery hoppiness is sprinkled onto the resinous bitterness.
-A well-crafted IPA, made for nourishing sessions.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 23, 2005 22 oz bomber. Deep orange colour, thich off-white head. Fruity hop aroma, citrus, grapefruit, some mango, apple, and sweet light crystal malts. A bit of oragne peel and light pine as well. Flavour is quite piny/resiny with loads of sweet fruity hop flavour. Nice malty flavour balanced the hops quite well. Would do well with some more bittering hops. More tropical fruits come forward as the beer warms. Tasty brew.
