Jan 27, 2005 Bizarre mix of styles here, you’ve got a schwartzbier oktoberfest/marzen lager kind of thing going on. The smoke was the first and foremost flavor here, subtle hints of traditional Oktoberfest grains sneak through but other than that it’s all smoke, and a touch watered-down at that. The typical lager finish never really works though here, but there is little finish to speak of reguardless. Interesting and just shy of something actually pretty good. Interesting concoction nonetheless.
