Commercial Description:
Hearty and wine-dark, with a rich, smoky taste, Three Threads Porter takes its name from 19th-century taverns where, at the end of each day, brewers combined different batch strengths, called "threads." Their customers were often dockside workers—or porters.

Nearly opaque robust dark brown with a thin light tan head. Lightly roasted, butterscotch and lightly tart with some dark chocolate and malt in the aroma. Starts with mild touch of caramel and molasses with a full, flavorful roasty body, yet very drinkable. An enjoyable and well-balanced brew. Thanks Andre’!

Draught @ Brouwer’s Cafe pours deep ruby, almost brown, nice sand colored head, foamy, with attractive lacing.   Faint coffee and burnt malts on the nose.   Perhaps a bit of bittersweet chocolate as well.   Mild malt & hop forefront, light chocolate, with a subtle roasted malt flavor.   Seemed heartier via the nose but actually comes across as fairly moderate.   Slight sweet as well.   Finishes with a unsweetened chocolate twang.   Body and mouthfeel seem fairly mediocre however.   Not bad...

Thanks to CaptainCougar. Poured a dark brown color with a small light brown head. Aroma had a good bit going on. Unfortunately not all good. Roasted malt, prune, chocolate, smokey, marshmallow, and unfortunately diacetyl. Body and flavor was kind of thin with a soft carbonation. flavor was lightly roasted and lightly sweet with a small bitter finish.

Rating #400- Black body with a inch big tan head. Lots of coffee in the aroma, background of chocolate. Like a toned down version of Alpha Klaus because of the hop presence and sweetness combined. Taste is espresso, semi-sweet chocolate, with a nice light hop edge to it.

Bottle agquired in trade from HeRftYDrF. This stuff could easily pass as a dry stout. Aromas are toasty grains, espresso and vanilla. Taste is smooth with more flavors of chocolate and nuts. The perfect use of hops is what makes this stuff stand above other porters I’ve had. Thanks Andre.

Aroma of dark roasted coffee and yeast. Burnt, espresso flavor. Very roasted and dry. Somewhat harsh, Medium bodied. Not much in the way of complexity. In the end seems unbalanced and rough, just average.

Dark brown color with a hint of orange when held to the light. Full head of tan bubbles. Sweet aromas of cherries, chocolate liqueur, butterscotch, caramel and a hint of licorice and black malt. Lots of depth, but not what I am usually looking for in a porter. Strong coffee, and mild dark chocolate dominate the flavors. Lacks depth of in the malt areas. A touch too much like a red wine than a brew, when it comes to flavors.
