Commercial Description:
Hearty and wine-dark, with a rich, smoky taste, Three Threads Porter takes its name from 19th-century taverns where, at the end of each day, brewers combined different batch strengths, called "threads." Their customers were often dockside workers—or porters.

22ozBottke Pours very dark with a very thick creamy dark tan head that help up very well. Aroma is smokey and quite chocolaty. faint bitter hops. Taste was very dark chocolate and smoke with a bit of molassas. Feel was silky and smoth, not too heavy. A bit more lingering bitters at the end thnan some porters. Very nice.

Big tan head atop red-black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, chocolate, some roasty, coffee. Taste is medium sweet, roasty/smoke, coffee, some chocolate, light vinous. Smooth medium body. For some reason, despite the inviting aroma, the flavors don’t work for me.

Deep dark almost black with hints of red. Tan creamy head. Aroma of roasted malt, some caramel, some dark chocolate. Hint of smoke. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Slightly sweet, coffeeish taste. A respectable porter.

Deep brown with reddish highlights that produced a nice creamy tan head and excellent lace. The aroma hints of roasted malts, caramel, bittersweet chocolate, lactic tones, floral hops, smoke, espresso and currents. The taste starts bittersweet with a nice earthy undertone. The sourness adds to the depth of the beer with the additional smoky and coffee characters. The finish has a lingering bitterness and nutty quality as well. The mouthfeel is moderately creamy and smooth, dry and chalky. The beer has a near sweet stout nature, very lactic and bitter but the malts hold up nicely. Fruity and smoky, nice complexity for a porter, recommended. Thanks Joe for the bottle.

Dark brown color with a creamy tan head. Aroma has some chocolate and roast, but smells mostly of cheese to me. Flavor is sweet and bitter with chocolate. Creamy and milky, leaves you mouth coated. I didn't really care for this, it reminds me too much of stale milk which I hate.

Very dark brown color with a medium beige head. Strong chocolate and roasted coffee aroma. Strong sweet dark chocolate, malt, bitter coffee and hops flavors. Creamy feel, with a dry finish.

Dark brwon color, transparent, with a tan head. The aroma was full of dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, smokiness, and wood. The flavor was strong of black coffee, slightly smoky, with tons of chocolate throughout. The feel was very creamy, just a tad bit watery, but very nice. Wonderful, big, robust porter...very enjoyable.
