Commercial Description:
Hearty and wine-dark, with a rich, smoky taste, Three Threads Porter takes its name from 19th-century taverns where, at the end of each day, brewers combined different batch strengths, called "threads." Their customers were often dockside workers—or porters.

Bottled. Very dark ruby, near black. Rich creamy head. Medium sweet with fairly clean mouthfeel. The flavours fills the mouth - there is aromatic grapefruit and licorice. The finish is dryish and fairly bitter. A well balanced porter of the highest quality.

Big tan head atop red-black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, chocolate, some roasty, coffee. Taste is medium sweet, roasty/smoke, coffee, some chocolate, light vinous. Smooth medium body. For some reason, despite the inviting aroma, the flavors don’t work for me.

Poured a dark reddish-brown color with a large sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of choclates, molasses, roasted malts, and coffee. Coffee lighter in the tastes with a light bitter coffee finish.

Nearly opaque robust dark brown with a thin light tan head. Lightly roasted, butterscotch and lightly tart with some dark chocolate and malt in the aroma. Starts with mild touch of caramel and molasses with a full, flavorful roasty body, yet very drinkable. An enjoyable and well-balanced brew. Thanks Andre’!

Draught Black beer with a yellow-transparent head. Coffee, espresso, coffee dregs, bittersweet nose. Black coffee again, ink, mushrooms or black-roasted peppers without the capsicaine burn. Burning MF all the same, medium bodied, but giving a (false) very dense impression. It’s just falling short of excellence points; Cutting corners or wanting to water the style?

Creamy and rich milk aroma. A good regular porter with hints of berries, wood and chocolate, with a good malt backing and minimal hops.

Dark brown color with a hint of orange when held to the light. Full head of tan bubbles. Sweet aromas of cherries, chocolate liqueur, butterscotch, caramel and a hint of licorice and black malt. Lots of depth, but not what I am usually looking for in a porter. Strong coffee, and mild dark chocolate dominate the flavors. Lacks depth of in the malt areas. A touch too much like a red wine than a brew, when it comes to flavors.

Deep brown with reddish highlights that produced a nice creamy tan head and excellent lace. The aroma hints of roasted malts, caramel, bittersweet chocolate, lactic tones, floral hops, smoke, espresso and currents. The taste starts bittersweet with a nice earthy undertone. The sourness adds to the depth of the beer with the additional smoky and coffee characters. The finish has a lingering bitterness and nutty quality as well. The mouthfeel is moderately creamy and smooth, dry and chalky. The beer has a near sweet stout nature, very lactic and bitter but the malts hold up nicely. Fruity and smoky, nice complexity for a porter, recommended. Thanks Joe for the bottle.
