DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Sep 1, 2005 (Draft: Celtic Bayou in Redmond, WA) More hoppy than the blonde ale, but the sweet, grainy flavor shows just as much presence, and this pilsner isn’t nearly as clean as I was expecting. Sweet and grainy aroma lacks the hop character of a good pilsner. The body is light-to-medium, but a bit heavier than most pilsners. Clear, golden color, with a whitish head that settles to a broken layer, but leaves a fairly large swatch of lace on the glass. Serviceable for a blonde ale, but not a good example of the pilsner style. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Sep 3, 2004 This was a really weak attempt at a pilsner. Way over hopped with some citrusy/floral hops, nothing subtle about, just in your face hops and bitterness. To bold of a beer that really missed the idea of the great delicateness of the pilsner style. BillKismet (1896), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 16, 2003 Golden blond with a nice layer of smooth cream. Crisp, clean, hop ping in the nose with some German hop flavor--of which I am not an aficianado. An easy drinking summer brew that failed to win me. Crit (2398), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada Jun 16, 2003 Cloudy gold(chill haze?) Crisp hop nose. Good crisp hop profile with a decent finish
