Clear dark amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, nutty and leather notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration, a dry finish. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20091122]

Oct 7, 2008 500ml bottle (bb.30/9-08) bought in Maldon in May 08 and shared with Finn at an autumn party in Tromsø. Crystal clear, dark brown body. Low tan head. Malty profile with a light smell of dark malts followed by moderate hints of chocolate malts in the flavour. Soft carbonated and rather light on the swallow. Low-level bitterness to a beer that is described as a Traditional Best Bitter. Has got some resemblance to a German Schwartzbier in look and taste (27.09.2008).
