Commercial Description:
Sparkling, clear, golden. Blended for potent fruit and acid, subdued tannins, somehow it offers a surprising and delightful suggestion of whisky sours with nothing like the alcoholic penalty. Alcohol content 7.5% by volume. 750 ml. bottle, mushroom cork closure (no corkscrew needed). Nice to get fun and information in the same bottle, yes? The fun is in the flavor, a little sweeter and more accessible than our regular styles, with keen acid and tons of fruit, plus a clean, food-enhancing finish. The information, familiar all over the cider-drinking world but generally forgotten here in the States, is that traditional fermented ciders make ideal hot-weather companions. Don't chill Summer Cider (or any FH bottle) very far down, you'll lose contact with its fullest flavor.

750 ml bottle from the Beverage Warehouse in Winooski, VT, served from a standard no-name wine glass at a bit below cellar temperature. Light "pop" of the cork, a bit of fizziness that quickly subsides in the golden/straw body which is just faintly hazy and bubbly....earthy, mineralic/chalky hints in the autumnal-sweet cider-apple nose, old Russets with hints of Empire perhaps....very smooth, eminently quaffable body, just beautifully balanced on the dry/sweet chart, with very little alcohol noticeable and a lovely hint of caramel sweetness at the finish...low to moderate carbonation, a real pleasure to drink with just enough complexity to retain interest through the bottle, enough easy roughness to make you enjoy that finish. Possibly the best from this solid cidery.

Draft. Pours yellow gold with a thin bubbly head. Light apple aroma with just a hint of sweetness. The flavor has a light apple sweetness, with a nice dry almost tart hint. Decent.

On tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a clear straw yellow with a medium sized white head that vanishes almost immediately. Dry apple, little bit of champagne yeast, somewhat sweet fruit. Thin, somewhat watery. Little bit of a dry hay note, rather empty overall. Dried out a bit too much.

Bottle thanks to bullzeye. The look is clear, yellow in color, and not too much else. The smell is apples, fruits, sort of spices. The taste is light tartness, fruits, and apples.

Bottle courtesy of bu11zeye. Clear clear light yellow pour. Smells of sweet but tough cider. Some harsh chemicals. Tastes of tart fruit that finishes easily. Better than I thought.
