Quack-Duck (1698), Bodensee, Germany Jul 21, 2007 0,33l bottle. Cloudy golden yellow, large head. Fruity character, hints of banana. Quite yeasty and malty. Very nice, perhaps a bit more fruity than a normal Hefeweizen. MoritzF (3690), Ruhrpott, Germany May 1, 2007 (33cl long neck bottle, with thanks to Stefan!) Hazy, pale golden colour with a non-persistent frothy white head. Moderately sweet yeasty and grainy aroma with a moderate wheat-character and rather restrained fruity notes. Light-sweet, minimal sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a fine, moderate carbonation. Yeasty and grainy taste with a subtle fruitiness of citrus and peach; the yeast also dominates the slightly sweet and fruity, wheaty finish. The intense, but almost vinous yeastiness (think of fresh wine-samples [Faßproben] or Cremant) makes it at least interesting.
