On tap, poured a clear deep golden color. Nice dank hoppy aroma with a bit of malt sweetness in the background. Really nice hoppy flavor balance with some grainy caramel flavors. Really easy drinking and a well crafted pale ale.

Nov 24, 2009 Tap @ Fat Head’s. Pours a hazy dark gold body with a minimal foamy white head. More floral hop nose than citrus with some doughy pale maltiness. The flavor is doughy malts under a citrusy, but not bitter hoppiness. It’s a bit too clingy and bready for me, but it’s not terrible. Medium bodied, a bit sticky, with moderate fizzy carbonation. Not a big fan of this one.

Oct 14, 2009 Sample at the brewpub. Cloudy orange pour with a big white head. Citrusy hop nose with a bit of sweet malt. Hop flavor that is piney and citrusy with a bit of malt and a very bitter finish.

7/14/2009: Fat Head’s Pack-A-Wollop S.P.A. (Strong Pale Ale) is a great pale ale. It has lots of sweet orange citrus hops with a soft pale and toffee malt base. The flavor has lots of grapefruit, so it is even more citrusy than the aroma. There is a mild to moderate level of bitterness. The beer has a clear, shiny copper color with a dense, creamy, lasting beige head and near solid lacing. Overall I REALLY enjoyed this beer.

May 9, 2009 On tap pours amber color with off white head. Aroma is some biscuit with hop pine. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is astringent hops and has a grainy finish. Just ok.

May 4, 2009 Pours copper with a nice, fizzy beige head. Aroma of fresh dank hops and biscut malt. Bitter initially but earthy malt sweetness in finish. Medium bodied and easy to pound. Is a good session beer but don’t think they plan to brew again.
