This is a malt lovers beer....too bad I’m not much of a malt lover. poured a clear reddish/brown. Mild aroma, just some caramel and toast notes. Very malty flavor, toffee, caramel, vanilla with a very faint hop background. I can see some people really liking this and it was extremely well crafted, just not a style I enjoy all that much.

Nov 24, 2009 Tap @ Fat Head’s. Pours a clear dark copper body with a small off-white head. Lightly grainy and hoppy nose with a touch of fruitiness and caramel. The flavor is a bit thin with toasty malt and a light bitterness. Husky finish. Light bodied and fizzy, it’s also a bit coarse. Overall it’s just the average brewpub Amber offering.

Oct 14, 2009 Sample at the brewpub. Clear red pour with a medium off-white head. Dank malty aroma without much else going on. Bready malt flavor with a bit of hop and a musty aftertaste. These guys make some good beers, but this one would be the one to skip. I didn’t finish the sample.

Oct 12, 2009 it’s malty, and decent, but there is a back-end astringency that was not hop-related, and was unpleasant to me and a few others I was with.
