Coast IPA is tribute to our California brewing buddies.
Oct 20, 2009 On tap during the IPA Fest. Poured a cloudy gold with a thin wihite head. Stinky aroma, that mostly wasn’t very good. Someone else said dishwater, and that was about spot on. Nice flavor though with lots of citrus, pine, peach and apricot. Good mouthfeel, a bit undercarbed, but I think they rushed to finish this to get it on tap. Overall a nice beer besides the aroma and I would love to try it on cask.
Had this on tap this evening at the brewpub with dinner. Pours dark golden color with white head. Aroma is sticky resinous hops. I thought if I touched my nose after that smell it was going to be sticky. This smells wonderful. Opulent mouthfeel. Flavor is upfront citrus and pine hops followed by some caramel. Finishes with a slight astringent taste. The hop flavors when you first sip are so chewy I thought there were actually hops in my glass. Overall a great beer except for the slight astringent finish.
