| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 13, 2009 This is a 4.8 ABV stout - and that is something to remember when ordering it. The flavor is simple, cocoa, toffee and roasted caramel malt with a heavy dose of sweetness. Its a good "Guinness Alternative" and I think I would love to see an imperial version of it. I vastly preferred having this as the last sample of my three samplers, giving it ample time to warm up, as it has very little flavor at all cold.

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 18, 2009 Sampled on draught at the brewery in North Olmstead, OH. Pours to a deep brown to black color with a creamy head, and moderate carbonation. Nice aromas of dark chocolate pair with hints of roast and vanilla. The palate is soft with good flavors of dark malt, chocolate, coffee and light roast. This one finishes with more good coffee and chocolate up front, then ends with some roasty notes of coffee that linger. Well done stout with lots of flavor. Nice beer to enjoy by the pint, and a good beer to match with a number of dishes on Fat Head’s menu. Great place, great beer. miketd (681), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

This was the first beer that caught my eye as it is a relatively low alcohol stout that could be sessionable. The west side of Cleveland is home to one of the better interpretations of this in Rocky River’s Oompa Loompa Stout. This one is not much behind though I would rate it as a solid regional instead.
Aroma / Appearance - The short lived cream head settled into a mild black body with hints of bittersweet dark chocolate flakes, dry roasted malts, and mocha. Overall it was light and smooth just like a Starbucks’ coffee flavored drink.
Flavor / Palate - Creamy rich chocolate fills the palate like a cold version of a well done hot chocolate. In fact it is almost like drinking the syrup straight from the bottle rather than thinned with milk. I would not drink this all night but if you like stouts which are not heavy and over the top it has all the right things going for it. fiver29 (726), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
