| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 31, 2007 Clear, yellow gold appearance with an average size head and decent lacing. Sweet malt aroma, some breadiness, soft fruits had to be coaxed out. Sweet, astringent taste, medium bodied, well carbonated. Sharp alcohol burn in the aftertaste. thegreenrooster (1835), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 28, 2007 Pour is a orange with a white head. Aroma is sweet malts and i can actually smell the alcohol. Flavor is some citrus and malts but here comes the alcohol. Should a amber have 7.2%?. Finish is very boozy. Nothing you want to have after a long day at work. Panzuriel (993), Westerville, Ohio, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Jan 27, 2007 Hazy dark golden with a fine white head. Nose is a mildly malty sweetish aroma. A bit sweet on first sip with some amazing acidity. body is medium. finish is not too wonderful. I sorta shuddered a little. blinesam (233), USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Jan 11, 2007 Updated: Jan 12, 2007Didnt taste the alcohol untill my second sip but from then on the strong 7.2% hit me with every sip thereafter. I really wanted to like this beer but it there were just too many off notes and too little redeming qualities. However, drinkable and not crap. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 11, 2007 Fat Weasel Ale is marigold yellow in color with a small ivory head. It is clear with a generous amount of lively carbonation. The aroma is malty with undertones of orange, pear, and apple cider. A hint of the alcohol is also present in the aroma. The flavor is also brown sugar and modestly sweet. It also has the same undertones citrus, pear, and apples that were in the aroma. The alcohol (7.1% ABV) also also makes itself known, but isn’t too overstated or astrigent (until the beer gets really warm!). The finish is dry, slightly acidic, and moderately bitter (grassy and floral hop flavors). The body of the beer is on the lighter side (light to medium light), but fits well with the flavors. It isn’t overly carbonated, so it’s decent on the palate as well. Overall I am satisfied with this brew for the price. I had been wanting to try some of the Trader Joe’s "store brand" beer for awhile now to see if it was anygood. It isn’t the best stuff out there, but for the low price and alcohol content, I think that this beer is better than some of the alternatives!

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 9, 2007 Pours bright amber with a touch of haze under a large head that leaves a sticky, giraffe-back lacing as it falls. From the first whiffs of the aroma, I’m convinced I’m going to enjoy this brew. Raisiny cookie-dough malts over dry wheat followed by lemongrass hops that strive to be citric. As it warms, some fat alcohol notes weasel in (oh... I get it now). Flavor turns out a little disappointing, kinda tasting like a weak Dunkel crossed with a Bohemian Pilsener. Non-descript sweet malts precede an herbal, grassy bitterness, all the while injected with some alcohol notes that further thin the flavors. Not bad and quite the little whopper at 7.1%. I’d buy again for that reason alone.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 2, 2007 Updated: Jan 4, 2007This is another contract brew by the Firestone Walker Brewing Company labled Stienhaus Brewery and sold by Trader Joes. There is a very similar named brew with an almost identical lable called Fat Weasel Amber Ale which is pretty bad. This is actually somewhat better. Poured a medium yellow color with a large foamy head that left moderate lacing. Nose is mild malts and some hops.. Mouithfeel is watery, and flavor are of light malts and milld hops. A very average brew. Not remarkable, but not bad either. cyanescens (156), Seattle, Washington, USA
