| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 16, 2008 A deep golden pour with a fizzy white head. Light malt on the nose and almost corn with a hint of hops. Malty, starts semi sweet and goes to a light bittter dry finish no bad after tastes. A bit fizzy. Pretty clean dry drinker. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/20 | Feb 4, 2008 Pours clear, with a minor, fine head. Aroma is sweet and mildly fruity. A bit of wheat and yeast in there as well. Pretty heavy mouth feel. Flavor is kind of fruity, some apple, wheat, a bit of an alcohol burn, but nothing awful. There’s a strong bitter aftertaste that I can live without. Though, overall, it’s not -bad-, but it’s not great either. anthlovesbeer (67), north grafton, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 30, 2008 First taste: a Budweiser and Miller High Life union with a spiked alcohol content (7.2%). A slight sticky and overly sweetness feel throughout. A strong cider taste; both apple and pineapple detected. Slightly chalky, yet crisp and refreshing. wilkie (1191), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Bottle purchased at Trader Joe’s in Chapel Hill, NC. Pours orange/copper, clear, small white head. Aroma is faint caramel, sweet. Flavor is similar, but very thin. Hard to believe the ABV is correct. Slight bitterness in finish. I would like a bit more in the flavor and perhaps a little more hops. Cobra (1066), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 22, 2008 Updated: Jan 23, 2008August Schell version. 12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. Weird date code on bottle neck. Poured out a hazy yellow color, with a soapy tan head. Aromas are of sweet malts, some adjuncts, earthy hops. Flavors are smooth for a beer of this ABV. Smooth tasting corn, malts & hops make for a decent beer overall. Finished slightly sweet. This beer deserves a higher overall rating for sure. MrRain (433), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 21, 2008 A very average ale. I don’t know that I buy a 7.1 abv, It certainly didn’t taste like it. Anyway, it was very middle-of-the-road. Not bad for a Sunday night before work beer. DrnkMcDermott (1860), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 4, 2008 12 oz. bottle, made by Schell’s. Unlike the Trader Joe’s Jumping Cow amber I had yesterday, this one has a bit more ruddy malt, under a white, slightly lacy head. Could almost pass for a Honker’s Ale. Taste shows a little more hop bite than the JC, too. Citrussy bite of NW hops, but not a lot. My label claims 7.1% alcohol. Still, it goes down pretty quickly, and forgettably. Not too bad for a "store brand" beer from the provisioners of "Two Buck Chuck." badlizard (2373), Berkeley, California, USA
