Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some peach, honey. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, honey, bread, light peach. Watery light body, light chalk. Not an APA in my book. bhensonb (4358), Woodland, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 5, 2007 Slightly unusual aroma - there is hop. Slightly hazy gold color with a vigorous white head. Something of a flavorless start. There is some hop at the end, and I think I am detecting malt as well. Very innocuous. The bitter does go on nicely. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 29, 2006 This American Pale Ale pours an orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is bready and sweet. A very light bodied American Pale Ale. Malts are caramel, bready and sweet. Hops are slightly bitter. Its kind of mild tasting for a lager, and its really mild tasting for an APA. It a touch thin and a little sweet. Nice carbonation. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. WeeHeavySD (3040), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 11, 2007 This was a crappy representation of the style. It came off as more of a pale lager in every respect: straw yellow, clear, rapidly receding white head, grainy/corny aroma. Quite a featureless grainy palate with little discernable hop character. Poor at best. IrishBoy (2719), Bakersfield, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 21, 2006 Bottle from Trader Joes; lagerish grainy aroma; dark gold with a small white head; flavor is spicy malt with a small amount of hops which linger into the finish. Mendocino beers are all better than this is rated! It’s not a 1.9 beer! Not super hoppy but a decent beer. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 8, 2004 (Bottle) Fairly flavorless beer with a somewhat sweet and modest fruity flavor up front; Mildly bitter but almost no hops or maltiness to speak of, which is especially disappointing given that this is supposed to be a pale ale; Fairly thin palate to match the flavor; Sweet and very fruity nose with a strong aroma of peaches, which isn’t bad, but out of character; Slightly cloudy and dark yellow in color; Off white head has good size when poured and displays average retention with a fair amount of lacing GregClow (2499), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 27, 2005 Bottle from Trader Joe’s in San Diego. Very pale amber-gold with a small white head. Muted aroma that is somewhat grainy, with a stale hop character - not promising. Flavour is better, but still quite bland. I did like the finish, which holds some mild but tasty orangey hop notes. But generally, this is a pretty weak effort.
