Commercial Description:
This beer is the Belgian version of a German Hefe Weizen. The malt used to brew the beer is made up of barley, wheat and oats. The oats add to the softer flavor and to the opaque hue the beer exhibits. This is the origin of the name White (Wit in Flemish or Biere Blanche in French.) Like the Hefe Weizen, the beer is an ale and is spicy (phenolic) and fruity (estery.) Belgian White is not as spicy and the fruity flavor has more citrus and less banana flavors. White beer is a traditional Belgian farmers beer. It was in danger of becoming extinct in the 60’s before it was revived and is now brewed by as many as 10 different breweries in Belgium. Faultline Brewing Company serves the Belgian White from late Spring through early Summer.

On tap. Hazy yellow with a creamy, off-white head leaving laces. Very perfumy coriander nose. Light body, soft mouthfeel, coriander, citrus and a late note of yeast. 250709

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is vague coriander and wheaty. Mild spiced and estery fruity flavoured. Mild acidic and spiced flavoured finish with a light phenolic touch.

Had this on tap at the brewery served with an orange slice. Hazy yellow body with a crisp white head. Nice lacing as I drank this. Citrusy taste that does not over power the complex taste of malt and hops. I really enjoyed sipping on this one out on the patio. I would have this one again

Tap. Hazy pale yellow, average head. Almost hefe-weizen like. Somewhat eggish taste, not very good on the heels of the Celis White that my boss bought me last Friday.
