On tap. Clear amber golden with an off-white head. Lightly citrusy hop aroma. Medium body, sweet caramel and fruit. Discreet bitterness. I wonder if they are afraid of hops at Faultline? 250709

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden yellow to light orange with a fully gone head. Crisp hops fruity aroma. Fruity, peachy and mild orange flavoured. Bitter, light sweetness and subdued bitterness into the far finish. Medium dry and bitter finish.

pint cask at brewpub - Aroma is citrus hops and caramel malt. Pours yellow with a small head and good lacing. Flavor is crisp citrus hops with a nice smooth malty finish. Cask giving the proper temp and carbonation right away which was nice since I was in a hurry. Palate is tart and creamy. While this IPA isn’t anything special, it was still quite tasty.

My comments of tasting a cask conditioned version of the IPA (Yup, I luv cask conditioned beers) Appearance Nice golden color with a touch of haze from the dry hopping. For a cask-conditioned beer has a nice bit of lace on the glass Aroma Being cask-conditioned has a wonderful aroma of cascade hops yielding to a sweet malty bacground Flavor Served at the right temp for a cask-conditioned beer, starts of with nice malty flavor to be immediately followed by hop flavor and then the bitterness. Finshes off nice and dry. Since it is cask conditioned the malt background shows through well making it delightful Palate A very good beer from an excellent brewer. Seems to have a slightly higher final gravity for an IPA. I like that that for an IPA does not have a tongue numbing bitterness.

10/25 rerate: What the heck happened to this beer. It went from one of the greatest I’ve ever tried to something barely palatable. Tasted bland, grainy, stale. I guess that’s the diversity you can get with beer brewed in small batches. I’d give this IPA about a 2. My rating will be the avg. Original: Had this one on tap at the restaurant... WOW. I have NEVER tasted a brew with this much grapefruit flavor/aroma. I loved it. I have had so many beers with citrus hops but don’t even come close to this amount of grapefruit. I’m thinking maybe they use an s-load of chinook. I’m a homebrewer and I would love to take a shot at making this IPA. Next time I’m down there I’m going to pick thethe brewmasters mind and see what he’s using. Fantastic. Nicely balanced with malt. Very light body goes great with the citrus flavors. SO refreshing! I haven’t been this excited about a brew in a long time. Bottoms up!

Hazy light amber with decent white head. Hop nose. Green hop flavor...didn’t like it. Seems as if the used the hops when they were still too young.

Tap. Slightly hazy golden orange. Lots of hops but also smooth. Tingles in the mouth. Nice malty medium body.

Bitter, vague clove taste. Decent flavoring.
