On tap at the brew. I’ve had this a couple of years ago...in fact it was the only beer on tap, just like this time...but I couldn’t recall if I liked it or not. Pours a mahogany red with a good head. Nice bubbles. Nose is typical malt with a nutty, roasted quality...along with chocolate and dates. Flavor was roasted chestnuts with Fig Newtons. Was a bit thin, but has good coverage considering how slick it is. I was surprised by this beer...even if they only had one.

Clear light brown with a thin white head. Sweet caramel and slightly earthy aroma. Toffee flavor with a hint of chocolate. Clean but boring.

Awesome brew.I was hooked on pint #1. It is local only, and only on tap. It is extremely flavorful. Nice round taste with fruity, hoppy fullness. It finishes great, and no gas! lol I am not sure I have had better. It is very rich in color, dark brown, but not black. Very high head due to the tap, and is carmelly sweet, but not overdone. This is a great brew. If you are in town for Wurstfest, you need to stop in for a pint. RERATE: They had a new batch come out last week. I was very disappointed. One of the factors that has to be considered in a brew pub beer is consistency. The new batch was very bitter, and less flavorful. It still had the robustness and berry/maple feel, but the bitterness was painful. Man I was in love with that last batch! lol
