Sweetish, roasted aroma with dried fruits. Nice, but still lacking something. The flavor is a bit over the top with sweetness and roasted malt, as well as some alcohol. Sweetish, full body. Malty and alcohol finish with some roasted malt. It left the impression of being a malt liquor trying to be a bock, and it didn’t succeed. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Pours a thick blackish brown liquid, not even close to opaque, but nice looking with a small light tan head. Smell is heavy malts and no bitterness or hops. Flavor is nice at start, caramel, roastiness, a bit of nuts. No bitterness. Finish is sort of unpleasant and sharp. Carbonation is nice, and it is pretty thick. Not nearly as bad as some of their other offerings. Quevillon (1531), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada

The flavour has hints of alcohol and notes of roasted malt and caramel and a hint of bitter licorice. It’s a surprising bock, and normally I’m not so fond of the style, but this one is OK. pivnizub (5055), Bochum, Porúří, Germany
