| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 2, 2007 Very dark brown appearance with minor red rimming. Mild aroma profile includes meek chocolate and weak double-double coffee. Flavour is passive but passable, with minor chocolate and malt, some alcohol-induced bitterness and a cardboard finish. While there’s very little character to this beer, the high alcohol is well hidden and it does little to offend. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 14, 2007 Raisins, plums, and roasted malt in the aroma. Dark ruby red color. Medium to full palate. Some rum raisin and bitter coffee up front with bakers chocolate in the finish. I was pleasantly suprised by the complexity here. chainman (104), Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 24, 2007 A pleasant surprise, as many have said before me. I wrote Faxe off as a "bum beer" producer (1 Litre cans of 10%?), but this one truly surprised me. Poured almost black, minimal head. This is my first bock, but I assume this comes with the territory. Not much in the nose, just a bit of malts and something sweet. The taste was a bit fruity, a bit chocolately and a touch roasty. It still feels like this brewer is cutting corners - I can tell what this SHOULD taste like. Alcohol is not well-hidden. Ultimately, an unsatisfying but not disappointing beer. As with the Amber, I will undoubtedly purchase this again, because I hope that one day this brewer will produce the products they should, rather than the products they do. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 19, 2007 I tried this after I tried Faxe Extra Strong and I was hoping that it would live up to the hype as "Faxe’s best beer". The original smell wasn’t anything special, just plain malts and sweetness. However, when I tasted it I was in a bit of a shock; the taste was very distinct. It had a very strong copper and yeast taste that was very unappealing to me. Perhaps it’s an aquired taste, but for now I really didn’t care for this beer as much as my friends did. Oddly enough, I’d prefer drinking Faxe Strong or Extra Strong over this. charlotte (2036), Vanløse, Denmark
