| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 28, 2006 This is such a contrasting beer. Pours dark black with red edges. Has a sweet aroma from the malts, but the taste is all bitter hops. This beer needs to be drank cold as its gets more bitter as it warms. By the end of the glass I just wanted it to be over. The bitterness lingered way too long. Slacks (487), Bolton, Ontario, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 27, 2006 500ml Can: Pours deep black with red edges to it, with an initially large head that reduces to a scum-like layer. A sweet, malty aroma, albeit somewhat faint until I shook my glass like a British nanny. Taste is hard, bitter, with a strong pepper tone to it. Sweet aftertaste, almost apple. Doesn’t make up for a flavour that’s just too harsh for my palate. Drink this one ice-cold or you’ll regret it.
