A red-brown beer with a small brown head. The aroma is sweet malty - very simple. The flavor is of caramel, roasted bread, and alcohol. Way too sweet.

(Can 50 cl) I always wondered why Faxe doesn’t market their best beer on their home turf. But we still have to go abroad to buy this. Very dark brown - almost cola-coloured. Extremely full-bodied, malty with some nutty notes. Dry without being immensely bitter with a pleasant, balanced sweetness. A very nice beer indeed and rather close to a typical German bock. 261299

50 cL can. Pours dark and filtered brown with a huge very light brown head. Sweet and slight roasted malt aroma with a very minor raisin note. Roasted malt flavour with sweetness beneath, almost raisin like but goes slowly dry into a malty bitter finish.

Can. Weak, sweet roasted aroma. Very dark brown colour with a red hue. Small head. Roasted, peppery flavour. Well-balanced. Malty, peppery aftertaste. A good Doppelbock.

Thin for style; malt flavours are very simple, and not balanced off with anything. Tastes like corn was used, but I don’t know for sure. Bargain bock (actually popular in Canada for its alcohol/price ratio).

Can
Dark amber color. Strong caramel character with Porto notes (?). Nothing special, but drinkable.
