LagermanDave (5), , New York, USA does not count Jul 29, 2008 Brought the bottle back from Dresden Germany for our annual beer tasting of 30 beers. This is an excellent example of an Ur bock or original bock. Our judges loved this beer; flavor, appearance and finish were all excellent. Bock beer is the Germans answer to Scotch whiskey!
kappldav123 (997), Markkleeberg, Germany Dec 24, 2007 The bottle looks good. The beer is strong, begins very malty, smells also a little bit like mushrooms. A little bit too alcoholic. An average beer! motelpogo (4111), Plzen, Czech Republic Feb 11, 2007 bottled. copper colour with a quickly dying head. aroma of plum schnapps and metal ladder. a bit on the nasty side - sticky, sweet and with a tinny finish pivnizub (3822), Porúří, Germany Dec 12, 2006 Bottle (traded with EithCubes, thank You!) : Deep ruby amber coloured, smaller off-white head, quickly diminishing to a foamy layer; sweet-fruity (black berries), dark toasted-malty aroma, a bit yeasty/hoppy; sweetish-bitter flavour, medium bodied; sweetish, slightly alcoholic and fruity finish, balanced by some bitterness in the aftertaste. Not bad, but a bit too much on the sweet side...........
